Michael Stern
Michael Stern is an engineer, designer, researcher, and artist who merges traditional craft with digital design. He co-invented the world’s first molten glass 3D printer and founded Evenline, a studio built around digital glass, pushing the boundaries of design, sculpture, installation, and lighting.
At RIT, he is an artist-in-residence, teaching "Digital Glass," where students realize designs through digital fabrication, and 3D printing. His creative practice explores the intersection of traditional glassworking and contemporary digital design, examining the interdependent orbits of relationships—personal, material, and conceptual. These orbits extend beyond the personal, encompassing the dynamic interplay between idea, material, artist, and audience.
