Ir. Dirk Rinze Visser MSc CEng RO is a (part-time) Lecturer at the Structural Design & Mechanics Group in the Faculty of Architecture at TU Delft. Next to his work at the TU Delft, Dirk Rinze is Office Director at Buro Happold, a multidisciplinary engineering firm with over 30 offices worldwide and with almost 2,000 staff. Due to this dual role, Dirk is very strong in providing students the links between the theory - as learnt at the university - and the practice based on his experience in the field.
Dirk has ample teaching experience gained at universities in several countries, including the UCL Bartlett School of Architecture in London, UK. Dirk Rinze is involved as a tutor in both the BSc (BK6ON6, amongst others) and MSc curriculum of Building Technology (Earthy). He is also proving Structural Design consults to MSc students of the Faculty of Architecture and supporting them with their graduation projects. Dirk Rinze holds a MSc degree in Structural Engineering by the Eindhoven University of Technology.
Dirk Rinze is a Chartered Engineer through KIVI and entitled to use the designation of CEng, which is an internationally recognized professional qualification for engineers, and proof that the engineer is continuously engaged at a high level with personal and professional development, in collaboration with others inside and outside their professional field.
In addition, Dirk Rinze is a Registered Structural Designer in the Netherlands, and therefore entitled to use the designation of RO, representing the highest standard of engineering excellence in the Netherlands.
